A hot cup coffee, fresh
smelling paper and a bundle of pages filled with write ups and pictures. But
has it ever occurred to you what goes in making the perfect paper every single
day? Has anyone wondered that who are the faces who are behind the beautiful
write ups in the newspaper that is kept on your doorstep every morning? There
is so much spoken about how the newspaper industry works, what are the types of
beats that is covered and how it is was a male dominating industry in the
1970’s and 80’s and how it has been changing in the past two decades and how
women are emerging to be faces of various newspaper organizations.
Keeping the previous
two decades in mind, this idea of the journal came up. There are so many things
about women and journalism that has been long spoken – their safety, their
working style, their “type” of beat and many more questions have been raised
but has anyone found a proper answer to what was asked regarding women
journalists?
This journal aimed at
trying to answer few of the questions that are taking the rounds in the
industry. The journal tried to reach as many journalists who have been or still
the part of the age old industry and tried to understand the past, present and
future of women journalists in the newspaper industry. We have also tried to
cover as many topics as we could pertain to women journalists in the newspaper
industry.
